What a year.. wait… two years it has been! You see, this year and last year have completely melted together as one big mega-year. Believe it or not, one week ago today, my daughter turned one. ONE. That means I’ve been a new-mama for ONE WHOLE YEAR. That means before that, my body was cooking up a baby for 9 MONTHS. So, it would be only natural that all that time (two years, for all intents and purposes) has just collided and become a huge blur of crazy goodness. After Layla was born last December, some of the non-pressing things like the end-of-the-year blogging, just didn’t happen. So, we are going to make up for it this winter. There are going to be some awesome things hitting this little corner of the blog-sphere. So, hang on!
Today we are starting it all out with something I’ve never done before: a Behind-the-Scenes blogpost.
For over 6 years, I have pretty much shot everything alone with only the very rare assistant or my husband coming along. Well, when we found out we were pregnant in April 2012, I decided to shake things up a bit and Andrew accompanied me on many weddings in the 2012 year. Not only that, but throughout 2012 and 2013, some of my great photographer friends came and shot with me. Well, I started to love having someone along, after shooting 6 years alone, it’s so fun to have another creative to support you and encourage you on a long work day. So, many of these behind the scenes images are from shooting with them over these two years. Without further adieu, I give you the first ever, amydale photography Behind the Scenes…
And there are no words to express how much these people (and more) mean to me. They are more than great photographers, they are great friends, and my husband. HA! I am so humbled and honored that I would have friends that would fly from Baltimore, Philadelphia, Wisconsin, and even Canada to come shoot with me, whether it be in a time of need or for fun. Not to mention a couple of them have come multiple times, but I think it’s for the BBQ. I would like to say I could have made it through the last two years without them, that I could have done it on my own, but I’d be lying. I thank God so dearly for their friendship and am thankful that they just didn’t step into my life, but came alongside me to serve my awesome couples with me.
And to my husband… I try to let you rest on wedding days, and some days you do, but for the days you don’t and you’re with me… who’s going to test my light, hold the flowers, center the backdrop, carry my bag, help me climb a wall, help me get out of a hole, tell me when I have mud on my butt, run home because I forgot the guestbook on the office desk, fix me a bag of snacks, make sure I’m drinking enough water, run up and down a hill because I can’t decide what lens I want out of my bag I left at the bottom of the hill, buy Chick-fil-a and down it in two seconds with me, get my plate of food at the reception so I don’t pass out after 10hours of working??? ;)
It could be someone else, but I’m glad it’s you.
